Tina : Chaos, Dancers and Galaxy

I made these pieces by utilizing the combination of cold dyeing and printing technology. I pre-soaked one silk fabric and three cotton fabrics in water saturated with caustic sodium carbonate for 24 hours.

After drying, I tied the four fabrics separately in different shapes and prepared them for dyeing. I took certain amount of indigo natural dye and dissolved it in medium temperature water, approximately 40 0 C. After cooling, I prepared the fabrics for dyeing and placed them in indigo for 40 minutes. When the textiles are taken out of the dye, they react with oxygen and gradually turn blue. I removed the bundles from the fabrics and dried them.

According to the synthesis of the technology, I spread already dyed fabrics on the table and filled them with different figures in order to complete the composition. These figures are: chaos, dancers and galaxy.
